Basic Chords

Here I will show you a few very basic chords to get you started. Practice strumming these chords and changeing between them. At first you will find it hard to do this but dont worry that is normal.

The pictures to the right of the screen are called chord boxes. They show you how to play a chord. Ok this is how they work, the lines going from the top of the box to the bottom represent the strings the string to the left is the low E string the string at the other side is the high E string. The horizontal lines represent the frets. The circles on the strings are the strings that are pressed down. The numbers in these circles are the fingers that you use to push the string down.

For example A major. The chord box is telling us to push down the D,G and B strings on the second fret using our first seond and third finger. At the top of the chord box you will see two symbols "x" and "o" when you see the "x" this means that this string is NOT played. When you see the "o" this means the string is played but it is open.
